Why choose a Nurse Practitioner?

More people are choosing Nurse Practitioners as their primary healthcare provider.

In today’s complex health care system, it takes a variety of healthcare professionals from different disciplines to meet the healthcare needs of patients. All Nurse Practitioners complete a master’s or doctoral degree program and have advanced clinical training beyond their bachelor’s degree and RN licensure. More than 80% of NPs are educated and trained to provide primary care, thereby expanding patient access to well trained, high quality providers, and freeing physicians to address more complex specialty issues. As primary care providers, NPs evaluate patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose, plan and implement treatments, including writing prescriptions and collaborating with all types of healthcare specialists.

Nurse Practitioners provide high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered health care and are quickly becoming the heath partner of choice for millions of Americans. They are licensed in all 50 states and practice under the regulations of their licensing state. In Arizona, and a growing number of states, NPs have full practice authority, which translates into greater access to primary care for patients. NPs work closely with physician colleagues and other healthcare providers, but do not require direct supervision of a physician.

In addition to being a top-notch healthcare provider, an NP is Your Partner in Health,
delivering a unique blend of nursing and medical care. NPs assist patients in making better lifestyle and healthcare decisions.

NPs have differentiated themselves from other healthcare providers by focusing on the whole person when treating specific health problems, as well as educating their patients on the effects those problems will have on them, their loved ones and their communities.

Testimonials

"I recently became a patient receiving services from Christine McGregor, FNP.  I decided to switch to a new provider because I wanted to see the same person every time I needed medical care.  Christine made me feel very happy about my choice and I am comfortable trusting her with my care. Christine’s very thorough and she coordinated care with my other providers.  She made me feel like I was heard when I was speaking with her about my healthcare needs. Christine works very hard to help me overcome any barriers to me having good health and a better quality of life.  She even noticed a medication interaction another provider overlooked. My experience has been wonderful and I’m going to continue to be a patient. The rest of the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I feel valued and in good hands."
